Timeless are excited to offer this stunning and unusual artefact - a 9th century Keivan-Rus Viking Armlet, cast in bronze well over 1200 years ago.
The armlet is a miniature version of a Viking arm ring, and would have been used as a trading token in what is now Russia (in fact, Russia derives its name from Kievan Rus). The armlet was discovered in a hoard of forty identical armlets and is accompanied with an XRF certificate of verification.
Approximately 8cm in diameter.
VIKING TRADING ARMLET
Acquired by Timeless on the UK antiquities market in 2018, formally part of a private collection. Originally part of a hoard discovered close to Moscow, Russia.
