Timeless are very pleased to offer a chunky polished Stone Age Axehead dating from the Neolithic period, between 3400 and 6000 years ago.
Of European origin, the axe was knapped in flint. Once the desired shape was obtained, the axe was polished, probably by rubbing on a large, flat stone, to produce a beautifully smooth and sharp cutting edge.
At over 13cm in length, the axe is a particularly large example, and has been mounted on a handmade plinth of oak and textured steel.
