This is a lovely piece. Cast in bronze between the 6th and 12th centuries A.D., the bezel on this Eastern Roman ring displays a Beautifully Depicted Dove of Peace - the timeless emblem of Christianity that the Romans adopted as a state religion in the 4th century A.D. It is even possible to discern an olive branch held in its beak.
The inner diameter is particularly large at 19-20mm or a UK size U and will comfortably fit most fingers.
