Timeless are pleased to offer a fantastic Roman Zoomorphic Brooch in the shape of a crouched hare.
Cast in bronze around 1900 years ago, this intriguing little brooch represents Rome's long fascination with animal symbology. Found everywhere in Roman life including their weapon ornamentation, coins, frescos, harness mounts and mosaics, animals depicted by the Romans were often stylised, and represented creatures that were spiritually significant to them, such as cats, swans, stags, fish, horses, and eagles.
Measuring 29mm in length, this piece would make a unique gift.
Now available in the Timeless Galleries.
