Timeless are pleased to offer an eighteen-hundred-yr-old Roman Glass Face-Bead.
Carved from semi-precious carneilian and around a centimeter in diameter, the bead dates from the 2nd or 3rd Century A.D. and probably formed part of a glass-bead necklace. In more modern times, Carnelian was thought to have healing properties; restoring vitality and motivation, and stimulating creativity. Measuring just under a centimeter in diameter, it is not known who the face represents.
Presented in a rustic papier mache box, this little piece of history would make a very unusual gift.
