Timeless are pleased to offer a particularly large ROMAN CUPID MOUNT.
In Roman mythology, Cupid (Latin cupido, meaning "desire") is the god of desire, affection, and love. He is often portrayed as the son of the goddess Venus and the God, Mars, and depicted with wings, a bow, and a quiver of arrows
Cupid was a popular figure in the Middle Ages, when under Christian influence he had a dual nature as Heavenly and Earthly love - also seen in the Renaissance where a renewed interest in classical philosophy endowed him with various complex meanings. In contemporary popular culture, Cupid is shown shooting his bow to inspire romantic love, often as an icon of Valentine's Day.
At 51mm in length, this is a very large mount, and would make a great addition to any collection.
