Timeless are pleased to offer a fantastic Roman Zoomorphic Brooch in the shape of a standing bird.

Cast in bronze around 1900 years ago, this intriguing little brooch represents Rome's long fascination with animal jewellery. Found everywhere in Roman life including their weapon ornamentation, coins, frescos, harness mounts and mosaics, animals depicted by the Romans were often stylised, and represented creatures that were spiritually significant to them, such as hares, swans, stags, fish, horses, and eagles.

Measuring 30mm in length, this piece would make a unique gift.

Now available in the Timeless Galleries.
